Richmond Dance Center was founded in 1976. It is a studio known for operating with integrity and experience, while sharing the joy of dance for over 40 years. Its unparalleled reputation for offering quality instruction in Classical Ballet, Point, Creative Movement, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Lyrical/Contemporary, Competition skills and BeMoved® for children and adults is highly regarded on local, regional, and national levels.

Pam Turner

Jazz | Tap | Lyrical | Ballet | Creative Dance
Pam Turner received her B.F.A. in dance from the North Carolina School of the Arts and then continued her studies in NY for several years. She has taught for Richmond Ballet, Tidewater Ballet, VCU, and the Henrico Center for the Arts as well as serving as an Artist-in-Residence for schools in Virginia and North Carolina. She has choreographed for SPARC, King's Dominion, Carowinds, the University of Richmond, the New Virginians at Virginia Tech, a national tour for Georgia-Pacific and various commercials and pageants. She was the recipient of the 2007 Theresa Pollack Prize for Dance for her contribution of dance in the Richmond Community.

Jazz | Tap | Hip Hop| Director/Choreographer of Competition Teams
Tracy received her B.F. A. in Dance from The University of the Arts in Philadelphia. She travelled as a dancer for the shows on Carnival Cruise Lines as well as choreographed and performed with various dance companies on the east coast. Besides teaching for Richmond Dance, she also teaches and choreographs for SPARC and the Henrico Center for the Arts. Tracy is the Director and Choreographer for our competition teams.

Ballet | Pointe
KATE GOW, born in Bangkok, Thailand, began her voyage into movement practice at an early age in local studios. When she was 14, she was accepted on scholarship to The Grier School under the direction of Jocelyn Hrzic, spearheaded the Pre-Professional dance program, and in her senior year was offered the opportunity to apprentice with Jon Lehrer’s company, LehrerDance, in Buffalo, New York for the 2014-2015 season. She was then accepted on scholarship to The Boston Conservatory at Berklee, where she was named the Lizbeth Krupp merit scholar. Outside of school, she performed in Ruckus Dance’s 2018 tour as a guest artist and was a close collaborator for MIT's various Movement Initiatives. Kate recently graduated as valedictorian from The Boston Conservatory and is excited to foster a love for movement practice for a new generation of young artists!
Anna Branch
Ballet
Anna Branch, born in Russia and raised in Richmond Virginia. She began her training at West end Academy of Dance. She later decided to further her training and studied at The Richmond Ballet and went into the the trainee program. She trained under Malcolm Burn, Igor Antonov, Starr Foster and many more. She went to college in NYC and studied at Marymount Manhattan College and earned a BFA in dance with a concentration in ballet. She graduated in 2015 and moved back to Richmond Virginia where she reconnected with Starr. She became a member of her company, Starr Foster Dance and has been there for four seasons. She also started teaching ballet at Richmond Dance Center and has been for about two years. She enjoys widening the minds of her dancers with the basic principles of ballet.
